I hate these schlock Disney movies that come straight to video these days. I'm referring to such modern classics *snicker* as 101 Dalmatians 2, The Little Mermaid 2, and Aladdin: The Return of Jafar, among others. These are obviously put out to make a quick buck. They have crappy storylines, shoddy animation and Disney would never be caught dead releasing these to the theaters, they prefer to spend $100+ million on Treasure Planet because that's worthy of theatrical release. Hey--if it looks good, it must be good! Right? Right?... Apparently, these direct-to-video releases are the "training ground" for new animators. Of course, a child doesn't know the difference between the shoddy productions and the classic Disney releases, they want to see them all, forcing parents to buy them, and thus driving up Disney's profits. This is practically Disney's only sure-fire profit-making method because everything else in their company is failing. Hey Mike Eisner! See ya in the unemployment line!

Today I got an email wanting me to take classes at The University of Pheonix. And no, I didn't spell that wrong, that's Pheonix, 'e' before 'o.' If they can't even spell the name of their own city, then how good a school can they be? Probably not too good. I definitely wouldn't get a proof-reading degree there. I also hate these spammers that have the lamest email addresses, like: get@your_degree.hre or grow@yourmember.big. Do they think that's clever and attention-getting? Will that make more people read that junk? I guess there are probably some people that are like "Hyuk hyuk! Dat's da dad-blamest funniest ting I's eveh heard!" That's just a signal for me to put it right in the trash.

Now this is my kind of diet! If I ever need to shed a few pounds, this is where I'm turning--gummie bears, twizzlers, spree, swedish fish--here I come!

There are a lot of names that are considered "old" these days. Like Agnes, Hazel, Tex, Heck, Zelda...list goes on. I like Tex though, that's a tough sounding name, why is that gone? Sure I can understand Gertrude or Agnes, but Tex is cool. Heck is a good one too, but I don't think it would go over too well in the year 2003. Do you think in the future that name's like Matthew will be outdated? For some reason I don't think so, there have been famous Matthews in the past so the name has been around a long time; poet Matthew Arnold for instance, born in 1822...this post isn't very good is it? Not up to my usually (low) standards. Well, you can't win 'em all.

So the Superbowl was on last night. Now I like the Superbowl, but what I don't like is the hype. The pre-game started at 2:00 for God's sake! That would have been all right--if the game started at 3:00! But it started more than 4 hours later, at 6:30! Then, they had the post-game show after the game finished, finally coming to an end at 11:00. That's NINE hours! A football game only goes 3 to 3 and a half hours, so an added 6 hours is just overkill. And it wasn't even a great game because the hype killed it. #1 offense vs. #1 defense. Yeah yeah, I've heard the hype before and things NEVER EVER live up to the hype. Once Tampa had the game well in hand I just wanted it to end so I could watch Alias dang it!
