BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER

I'm a little wary of these extended movie previews that have been happening lately. First ABC did it with a 7 minute preview of The Village. Then Fox did it with a 10 minute preview of The Day After Tomorrow. But why would I want to see a 10 minute preview of a movie? Then I go to see the actual movie, and I've already seen 10 minutes of it! So I'd be paying full price for a movie that I've already seen a tenth of! Aren't the 2 minute previews enough anymore? It ain't right man...it ain't right.

AI WRAP UP

This show was outrageus, egregious, and fallacious! Latoya kicked off--noooooooo! Bonehead move America. Now we're left with not-up-to-snuff Jasmine, ghetto Fantasia, and almost-too-perky Diana. I like Diana, now that Latoya's gone she'll have to be my favorite. *sniffle* Alas poor Latoya, for we knew you well...

Why do they have to bludgeon us with so much filler for these results shows? Donna Summer trying to make a comeback (won't work), Clay Aiken performing (noooo! Not again!), a psychic??? Come on now, no one wants to see that junk and go to break a million times before seeing the results! Am I right?? Huh huh??

AMERICAN IDOL THOUGHTS

I don't think I did a wrap up last week, but what it would have said is: Thank the heavens George is gone! I got really sick of his wide-eyed, "who, me?" schtick.

This week, I thought they were all really good. I thought Diana was awesome. As was Latoya, but she always is. I hope it comes down to those two because, you know, I really don't much care for Fantasia. I find her voice whiny and unappealing. Plus, she's got that ghetto attitude. Don't need it sista! Jasmine, yeah, she's a wicked cutie, but she can't match up. That's why I think she'll go tonight.

VINTAGE VIDEO GAMES...OLD SCHOOL LIKE 1987 Y'ALL

You know, I miss the video games of yesteryear. Like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Super Mario. Those games were simple. They had easy objectives like eat pellets and avoid the ghosts. Simple. Easy. Yet addicting. I could play those games. I was good at those games. Nowadays the games are so different. You've got a million tasks to complete in one level; the games are in 3-D so you can go anywhere, not just in a straight line, confusing me; you've got a ton of buttons on the control, not just A and B...list goes on. These are not the games I grew up with, these are exercises in frustration! I can't decide: Is getting so frustrated I can't see straight playing Tony Hawk what's called "fun"?

See, kids these days have grown up on the advanced systems, but I was weaned on the good ol' 'Tendo box where I could walk across the screen in 2-D and bop some things on the head with my two buttons and call it a day. Oh Super Mario my old friend, it seems like only yesterday we rescued the princess...over and over till we found the right one. *sniffle*

WHAT'S ON TV? IF YOU HAVE TEN MINUTES, I CAN TELL YOU

I often refer to the TV Guide Channel to, obviously, see what's on TV. But, like everything else, the channel has become nothing but a corporate vehicle for advertisement. Two-thirds of the screen is now taken up by shilling for new movies, new DVDs, new music, upcoming TV shows, etc. Therefore relegating the actual TV listings to 3 lines, which sometimes they shrink even further so it becomes two! But in doing that, I have to wait for the entire channel listing to scroll through! And if I'm looking for a specific channel, I always catch it on the opposite end of where I want it! Remember the days before TV Guide owned the channel and it was just plain ol' TV listings? I haven't forgotten...nor will I!
